If I Ever Leave This World Alive – Meeting Flogging Molly

If I ever leave this world alive
I’ll thank for all the things you did in my life
If I ever leave this world alive
I’ll come back down and sit beside your
feet tonight…

Flogging Molly toured in Moncton, NB a few years ago and I had the opportunity to meet them in person. It was most definitely a bucket list dream come true.

“The sun never shines on closed doors” so I interviewed Bob Schmidt on the Flogging Molly tour bus before “floating” off to the concert.

Like a “man with no country”, I got lost in the crowd.

If you’ve never heard of “If I Ever Leave this World Alive”, you’re missing out.

Dave King is a genius and knows how to draw a crowd.

If I ever leave this world alive, I’ll come back down and listen to you again tonight.

  1. Just saw Flogging Molly at the Oakdale in CT Thursday 6/18/15!!! I would walk, fly, drive, hike, run, crawl to the end of the earth for the couple of hours to spend being in the same space hearing Flogging Molly perform. They pour their hearts and souls into their music and performances drawing the audience into each song until you are part of each song too. They are a gracious group of people, so musically gifted, and humanly connected to what is true, honest, and good in this world…..loving who you are, what you do, and who you are with. Every chance I get to see them perform, I’m all over it. I’ve driven to another state on a school night ( I’m a school teacher ) just to hear them sing, play, and be part of a very special place in time. I laugh, jump up an down, clap, sing, and cry every time! It is an experience not to ever be missed, THANK-YOU DAVE, BRIDGET AND THE WHOLE BAND FOR YOUR GRACIOUS GIFTS YOU SO READILY SHARE SO SELFLESSLY NIGHT AFTER NIGHT.
