About Me

Bucket List Publications portrays the beauty and limitless possibilities of this world. The quote, “The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences,” (Eleanor Roosevelt) describes my goals perfectly.

You can find more great articles, photos, and videos at our online magazine.

Lesley Carter

Traveling and adventure have encompassed my life; from white-water rafting, skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, rock climbing, biplane flying, dog sledding, base jumping, kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding, rappelling, and caving, I’ve tried every “bucketlist” item I could imagine. Rock climbing and a trapeze act were even part of my wedding day in Jamaica. I’ve been more than 75 countries and I envision 100 more.

Following my dreams of traveling and experiencing life to the fullest has taught me that the world is full of endless possibilities. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advanced English, a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Education, a Masters in Literacy, 8 years of teaching, and a vast imagination, I  decided to put my writing and editing skills to the test. Bucket List Publications is the accumulation of all of my wildest dreams come true.

  1. Hey Leslie,
An ardent traveler myself, I have been following your blog for close to 2 years now. Needless to say some incredibly awesome experiences and an amazing inspiration for travelers like us who have been bitten badly by the wanderlust bug 🙂 However it seems you haven’t visited the most fascinating continent of Asia and within it the enchanting land of India! You must visit India and I promise if you decide to plan a trip I shall give you all my recommendations and would love to host you in Mumbai as well. So please do come, travel here and write about my beautiful country. Will keep looking forward to it 🙂

  2. Oh my God, your blog is simply AMAZING. I dream of being able to live a life like that, but probably just lack courage. So I really admire how brave and adventurous you are!

PS thanks for stopping by and liking by blog)

  3. What an amazing and dynamic individual you are! Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to visit and now follow my blog.
I shall look forward to following up on your adventures.
    Kind Regards

  4. Wow. Don’t even know where to start. Yet another person who devotes their life to what they want to do no matter what or where it is. Jealousy and envy are not even strong enough words to describe all of you after sitting in a cubicle for 30 years wasting the first half of my life.

Well anyway thanks or liking my Ecuador post although I’m sure it’s quite tame and boring by your standards. Obviously I love your blog and life and will follow and read with great interest and anticipation. I try to use storytelling skills to make up for the lack of adventures in a lie that’s been limited to three week vacations. But we now have 40 or more years of retirement to learn how to live life like you so I hope you follow us.

    Thanks for the inspiration

  5. Hi Lesley,

Thank you for discovering and following Culture Shock at
travelingcat22.wordpress.com . I am new to the blog world so I’m happy to be acquainted to inspirational people like you. You have a very beautiful & professional blog. Not only I share the bucket list mentality (I visited 65 countries and wish to pass at least 100) and adventurous spirit, I love the style and colors displayed in tour DIY post. I’m following!

  6. Dear Lesley, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and liking my posts. You are so awesome and there are very few people like you on this earth…I really admire your travelling passion and your initiations. I started “voice of youth asia” with a mission to “connect youth of asia” for ” accontapreneurship and sustainable peace and development” by recognizing their potentials and making this online mag ( later into papers too) a platform for youth. We all are student of life aren’t we??? Looking forward to learn and share and also help each other along the path of life… Happy New year . Remain blessed. Sincerely, Olin

  8. Hi Lesley! Thank you for liking my post. I love the name of your blog. ‘WOW’ is the only word that comes to mind reading your About page. Visiting 50 countries is enviable to say the least! Good to know you 🙂

  9. Wow! Your life goals are amazing. Kudos to you for actually following through on bucket list items. Too many people never complete their goals. Your life story is inspiring to just get out there and do it.

Thanks for liking my blog post btw. I hope you enjoy the rest of Kass’s story.

  10. Hello Lesley, I am amazed on knowing how you have traveled over 50 countries and it really inspires me… Makes me believe that rather than waiting for an opportunity, it’s now much much better to DO IT NOW 🙂 Good Luck !

  11. Thanks for visiting me. I think you are my twin sister lost in this Universe 🙂 Some people choose to do risky things, some are put into risky things against their will. Yet it is about the outcome what connects them: they both become stronger and wiser…

  12. Hi Leslie, your site has made me re-think the excuses I have been making for pushing the envelope and exploring the world. Thanks for stopping by!

  14. This is amazing! I am trying to be on your level! I work hard to find adventure and positive energy in everything I do! I am working on finding more hidden gems closer to where I am until I can travel further out. I need to take more pictures of these adventures (I need to invest in a go pro).

  16. Hi Lesley – Hope you’re well.

I was wondering if I can get your email address or contact details?

We are in the stages of planning an exciting new contest for travel bloggers and photographers who’ve visited, or plan to visit Thailand, and we want to get as many talented people as we can on board.

To let everyone know more about the full details and great prizes we need to make as contact with as many bloggers and photographers as we can, to keep them updated via our newsletter.

I hope to hear from you soon

    May in Thailand

  17. I can’t leave a comment under your latest post. Maybe you disabled comments for it. So I will leave one here and you can delete it of course. Just to say that I signed up to your blog ages ago so I will be one of very many to have been shocked by the agony in your latest post. You won’t want pity, I think, and I am not a particularly empathetic person by nature. So I will simply wish for you courage to cope with the past and hope to face the challenges of the future. And know that you have given pleasure to a vast number of people. Good luck. RH

  18. Nice to meet a like-minded soul! 🙂 And to the readers who want Lesley’s lifestyle, go for it! What is keeping you? Reconsider all those excuses and do what you really want to do. Life is short enough, and anything can happen without a moment’s notice!
