What’s California known for? When people dream of touring California, what are some top items they include on their bucket list? For Faith and Albert Sun, touring Wine Country from the seat of a bicycle, pedaling past rows of undulating vineyards while enjoying an invigorating sensory experience, was an adventure that simply couldn’t be matched anywhere other than California’s Wine Country. California’s famous Wine Country holds a prosperous spot in the top ten wine regions in the world. Walking around the vineyards, enjoying a relaxing atmosphere, and tasting some of the best wine in the world was a dream that Bucket List Publications was able to make happen for Faith and Albert. Exploring the California Wine Country can be an adventure by itself; however, experiencing it via bike adds an element of intrigue that can make for a more memorable vacation altogether. Faith and Albert’s Cycling in the Vineyards Tour with Napa Valley Bike Tours was coupled with a three night stay at MacArthur Place to create a bucket list dream vacation beyond their wildest imaginations. Bucket List Publications first began as a blog under the name Indulge: Travel, Adventure, & New Experience. As ideas and articles began to develop, readers and followers flourished, but I wanted to make a difference in the virtual world, portraying stories written by international writers and sharing the unique reality of our bucket list adventures and extreme lifestyles. That’s when Darren, my husband, and I worked diligently to produce Bucket List Publications, a new online magazine found at http://www.bucketlistpublications.com/! Continue reading

We spent our two days in San Francisco strolling the familiar visitor zones of Fisherman’s Wharf, hopping the crowded tour bus to Muir Woods, taking snapshots of the Golden Gate Bridge, and exploring the Italian food districts. After all, what makes San Francisco so incomparable is the sheer breadth of its neighborhoods and its distinct pockets of local culture. Within a relatively compact 40-square-miles, we found showy Victorian manses and elegant Art Deco skyscrapers; the sprawling, verdant oasis of Golden Gate Park, along with some shockingly good museums; and oh the restaurants, with food, much of it made with sustainable, local ingredients, are simply sublime. Few other cities can match this town’s charm and simple bliss. Continue reading
Laguna Beach, and the surrounding Orange County areas, is the reason my husband and I moved across the continent. There are quaint shops, delicious restaurants, art galleries, beachfront beauty, year-round sunshine, and friendly people that remind me of eastern Canada. Sunset Cove Villas, located directly on the beach and minutes from the heart of downtown, are ideally situated to take full advantage of these benefits. Rising directly above Laguna Beach’s dramatic coastline, one of the most desirable beaches on the California coast, Sunset Cove Villas face the majestic beauty of the Pacific Ocean, creating a picturesque setting and romantic atmosphere. The crashing waves, white sand, spectacular sunsets, and gentle breezes make a stay at Sunset Cove Villas priceless. What nature has not graciously provided, the owners of Sunset Cove Villas have; luxury, ample amenities, and attention to every detail are all part of the Villa experience at Sunset Cove. I’ve stayed in hotels in 33 countries and countless cities, but none have compared to the 180 degree view of the ocean I experienced while waking up at Sunset Cove Villas. With a balcony on the water and access to the ocean just footsteps away, our Seychelles Villa was the kind of oceanside experience I’d associated with Southern California living, but had yet to attain. I finally soaked up the chance to spend some time living my California dream. Continue reading
Nestled at the base of the majestic Mount San Jacinto, Palm Springs is a world-famous resort destination. Ever since movie stars first appeared in Palm Springs in the 1930s, laying claim to ranch estates and enjoying fancy hotels, the clean, dry air and sunshine, all 360 days a year of it, has made Palm Springs irresistible. In search of a calm, relaxing, intimate hideaway, we found Sundance Villas. Tucked away in a secluded location, Sundance Villas provided an exquisite villa with complete privacy and luxury. With stunning natural beauty and lodging as unique as the destination, Palm Springs was an oasis in the desert. Continue reading
What makes a hotel upscale in San Diego? In a city full of activities, adventure, beauty,
endless summers, and fine dining beyond anywhere else in the world, I wanted to find accommodations that matched the perfection of San Diego. With a prime location, friendly staff, and uniquely designed suites, the award winning 1906 Lodge is the epitome of all that is perfection in San Diego. Their unmatched service, gourmet food, and attention to every detail make 1906 Lodge worthy of the #1 Coronado Hotel Award on Trip Advisor, the #1 San Diego Bed & Breakfast Award with “Best of San Diego 2010″, the Top 10 Romantic Hotel in the US by Trip Advisor, and the 2011 Fodor’s Choice Award. It’s Coronado Beach lodging at its finest. Continue reading
Is it the atmosphere? The comfortable chairs? The lighting? The attention? The magazines? What is it about a good stylist that allows you to have a great experience with them and continue to use their services? What is it about a salon that you’ve visited that makes you look forward to going back? At H Studio Salon, in Mission Viejo, they pamper their clients, giving them a mini vacation from everyday life. For the last two years, I’ve cut, styled, and colored my own hair with acceptable success. A busy, active lifestyle allowed me to tie it up and go freely without putting much thought into style or products. I’ve since slowed down a little and at six months pregnant enjoy simple escapes from my daily routine. H Studio Salon helped me feel better about my ever-rounding pregnancy face, my substantially growing belly, and my less-than-flawless skin. They provided the ultimate salon experience with customer service as their top priority. Continue reading
