In 2016, I want to continue exploring the world and experiencing new countries and cultures, but I want to spent more time with my family and discovering my new backyard – California. I’ve decided to limit my international travel to one trip every two months and spend more time in the amazing state that I call home.
There are some things I never thought I’d do in my life. Some experiences are so petrifying that they are unfathomable. That was cage diving with great white sharks for me. It combines all of my greatest fears in one situation. Using a regulator in the water, being surrounded by massive, man-eating monsters in the ocean and being confined to a cage were the epitome of torture, but I learned that knowledge breads comfort in even the most terrifying situations. Tomorrow, I will embark on a cage diving adventure with Islander Charters. I’ve always been adventurous but marine life has been my greatest fear. Even small, harmless fish have made me nervous about being in the water. I’ve come a long way since my days of running from minnows. I’ve had encounters with dolphins, beluga whales, whale sharks, Galapagos sharks, manta rays, sting rays, seals, and reef sharks but nothing has compared to this. I’m about to face my fears head on. Flying a jetpack with Jetpack America was one of the greatest adventures of my life and thanks to Jetpack America Newport Beach I was able to provide that same adventure for my brother. My youngest brother, Barry, just graduated from college and he’s in SoCal visiting before he enters the next stage in his life and looks for a career. I wanted to do something for him to say congratulations. I wanted for him to have a great adventure and remember this time with fondness. Not knowing what’s to come during this transition can be stressful and exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time. A flight with Jetpack America was a reflection of the mixed emotions he’s feeling right now. Succeeding at the flight made him feel stronger; more invincible and a little bit more capable of succeed at his next big adventure. Continue reading →
When I created this year’s bucket list, I anticipated a few items being left out or put off until 2016. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to post completely ridiculous dreams and hope for the best, but it’s only September and things are not exactly going as planned. Continue reading →
Dominica is one of the few countries left in the Caribbean that I haven’t visited. It’s a hiker’s paradise with adventure, beauty, nature, and culture abound. Starting Wednesday, I will discover this unspoiled destination. My trip will include hiking Sari Sari Falls and Trafalgar Falls. I’ll canyon, dive, snorkel, and relax on the beach. I’ll swim at Bubble Beach Spa and Champagne Reef and enjoy a whale watching excursion. You know when I visit a new place, I’m all in. My packed schedule will introduce me to the best of Dominica and I’ll be sure to share it all with you. Continue reading →
Bucket List Publications is a huge part of me. It’s my personal life, my family, my travels, my thoughts, my friends, my day. It’s a look into me… both good and bad. Few people are willing to be so open about their life with thousands of readers daily. It’s a big challenge to know how much to put out there and how much to keep to myself, but the rewards are greater than my wildest expectations. I’ve made friends, learned more here than during my 7 years of university, explored the world, challenged myself, and created a career. I’m happy to share, but I’m always trying to find the best way to do it. Continue reading →
