I’ve been talking about scuba diving for the entirety of Bucket List Publications. It was on my first bucket list when I created the site and it remained on the list year after year. The fear consumed me and took over. Failure after failure, I thought I’d never actually accomplish that one check mark. I tried and had a panic attack. I tried again and still couldn’t get over it. Well, hell yes! I finally went scuba diving and it was in one of the most beautiful places in the world – Hawaii. Thanks to Aqua Zone Scuba Diving and Snorkeling Center, I can finally say I crossed scuba diving off my list for the first time and I can guarantee it won’t be the last. Continue reading
Bulgaria wasn’t always on my bucket list. I didn’t even know where it was until a few years ago. The more I researched the country, though, the more I realized the endless natural beauty and ample opportunities for adventure. Follow along on my six day journey in Bulgaria with VisitBulgariaOn. Legoland California recently unveiled the tallest LEGO building in the United Stats just a few days before Independence Day. Athena and I attended the special opening to get us in the July 4th spirit. Accompanied by our best friends, we watched the red, white, and blue confetti rocket through the sky as Legoland California unveiled the One World Trade Center in the newly remodeled Miniland New York, located in the park’s Miniland USA. We always love exploring the park, but it’s such a treat to experience special openings. Athena soaks up the royal treatment yet she’s always appreciative and filled with wonder and excitement. Many of my trips include Athena and I try to incorporate fun activities that she will enjoy into my schedule, but my trip to Mall of America was all about her. From morning until night, I allowed her to choose every activity, every ride, every meal, every store, and almost every stop. (Sometimes I needed a bathroom break or to check in to the hotel, but the rest was up to her.) What resulted was one of the most amazing trips for both of us and a bucketlist adventure that we should allow our children at least once in their young lives. When she’s having fun, I’m usually having fun. Watching her make decisions also showed me how capable she is and how much she’s grown. Come along on Athena’s bucketlist version of Mall of America. What did you do today? Oh I just did aerobatics in a T-6 Warbird around Mt. Baldy in California, topping out at 220 mph and 4 G’s. Just the typical Wednesday, right? That’s not even typical for an adrenaline junkie, but it way my afternoon. Today was freaking awesome. If you’d like a more humble Lesley, wait for the next post. If you want to hear about my epic adventure thanks to Cloud 9 Living and Aviator Flight Training… Continue reading
In 2016, I want to continue exploring the world and experiencing new countries and cultures, but I want to spent more time with my family and discovering my new backyard – California. I’ve decided to limit my international travel to one trip every two months and spend more time in the amazing state that I call home.
This is what that looks like… Continue reading
Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.
After a wild 2015 of trekking gorillas and chimpanzees, searching for polar bears, taking selfies with penguins, swimming with whale sharks, and diving with great white sharks, I didn’t know what to focus on for this year’s list. I’ve accomplished so much since I started creating a yearly list. People often ask me if I’m running out of ideas, but my list actually keeps getting longer. It becomes more difficult to focus on yearly ideas because there is so much I want to accomplish, witness, experience, and learn in my life. For the first time in five years, my list isn’t complete and it’s already January 4th. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far but I’m going to continue editing until the end of the week.
