In 2016, I want to continue exploring the world and experiencing new countries and cultures, but I want to spent more time with my family and discovering my new backyard – California. I’ve decided to limit my international travel to one trip every two months and spend more time in the amazing state that I call home.

After a wild 2015 of trekking gorillas and chimpanzees, searching for polar bears, taking selfies with penguins, swimming with whale sharks, and diving with great white sharks, I didn’t know what to focus on for this year’s list. I’ve accomplished so much since I started creating a yearly list. People often ask me if I’m running out of ideas, but my list actually keeps getting longer. It becomes more difficult to focus on yearly ideas because there is so much I want to accomplish, witness, experience, and learn in my life. For the first time in five years, my list isn’t complete and it’s already January 4th. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far but I’m going to continue editing until the end of the week. Today we arrived at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort and we had one of the best days of our trip. It wasn’t because we went on an exotic excursion or because we were immersed in the culture, although I do love those as well. It was because Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort and a 55 metres water slide and a huge pool. It’s like having a water park at the hotel. Continue reading →
There are some things I never thought I’d do in my life. Some experiences are so petrifying that they are unfathomable. That was cage diving with great white sharks for me. It combines all of my greatest fears in one situation. Using a regulator in the water, being surrounded by massive, man-eating monsters in the ocean and being confined to a cage were the epitome of torture, but I learned that knowledge breads comfort in even the most terrifying situations. We did so many family-fun things today in Palm Beach, Florida that I don’t even know where to begin, but one activity was so fantastic that I find myself typing on my phone in the bathroom of the hotel while Athena sleeps peacefully in the bedroom. The Chesterfield Hotel offers a Little Prince and Princess Tea Party and we felt like royalty when we attended today. Continue reading →
