It’s hard to believe we’ve already been in the Caribbean for more than two weeks and we’re at our last hotel, Renaissance Curacao, of this trip. After extreme relaxation and rest, it’s nice to be in the capital city of Curaçao. The Renaissance Curacao is in the heart of the city yet it can still feel worlds away when you want it to. It’s pretty obvious at this point that I love swimming. I’m at home in the ocean, the sea, or a pool. Athena is always happiest in the pool, though, and Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort makes spending an entire day in the pool easy and fun. There’s poolside service, towels, chairs, umbrellas, and an activity center. They even provide the sunscreen. We took advantage of all the amenities at Santa Barbara Resort but we utilized the pool the most. Continue reading
As part of our first international trip of 2017, we’re staying in Curacao at Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort, a nestled beachfront resort along the Caribbean Sea within a 2,000 acre gated plantation. Family vacations don’t have to be boring. Traveling with toddler can be as adventurous as traveling solo if you’re creative and use the resources available. Athena and I just returned from the luxurious Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia where we were able to visit a waterfall, ride a catamaran, snorkel in the ocean, swim in the pool, kayak the bay, do the limbo, and run along the beach. I also rode “Big Mama”, toured the bay and snorkeled, played on the ocean trampoline, and water-skied while Athena enjoyed the Jacquot Fun Club, made her own tie dye t-shirt, danced, sang, and played with other kids. I was able to manage all of this in one week as a solo parent with a toddler; Windjammer Landing makes it possible for anyone.
St. Lucia’s Windjammer Landing has left me speechless. We’ve enjoyed the barefoot luxury, amazing entertainment, adventure, culture, and cuisine, but the sunsets are what make Windjammer Landing truly spectacular. Here’s a treat for the senses with 5 spectacular sunset photos from Windjammer Landing. Continue reading
I’ve been living a life of adventure and sheer beauty, exploring new countries and cultures, but spending the day with my daughter is truly what it means to be alive. Today, at Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia, we did nothing and everything at the same time. We gave the greatest gift to each other – our time. Continue reading
