Imagine getting in a vehicle, an airplane, falling asleep, and waking up in an entirely different place, a whole new world. That’s what it must feel like for Athena when we travel to new countries or cities. This morning, she woke up at Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas, our home for the next six days. Although it might have been confusing for her, it was the best kind of confusion. The Marketing Manager left us welcome baskets and what was inside was better than Christmas morning. Continue reading
2 hours in the right place can offer more fun and adventure than a year somewhere else. Today, Darren and I arrived at San Juan Marriott Resort and we only had two hours together. Darren was returning back to North Carolina and I am staying in Puerto Rico for an extra few days. Between check-in and check-out, for Darren at least, there was only a two hour window. We put on our bathing suits and headed toward the water activities. We booked a couples massage at La Mer Spa followed by a Jacuzzi bath and we learned that sometimes, even if life as close to perfect as you can imagine, you just need to breathe. Continue reading
As an eastern Canadian, I would put my family to shame if I didn’t attend an unlimited lobster night. To be honest, I didn’t ever think I’d hear of unlimited lobster night; some things are just too good to be true. Yet every Wednesday night, Solana Restaurant at Marriott Grand Cayman offers an All You Can Eat Lobster Night! Their menu starts with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, a special selection of appetizers, followed by a great lobster menu and topped off with a choice of desserts. Luckily, the plates are not too large and we were able to try almost everything on the menu. Continue reading
We’ve decided to make the most of our January and visit 3 Caribbean destinations. With our house in Charlotte, North Carolina on the market and a plan to move back to California, I don’t know how long I’ll have quick, easy access to Caribbean flights. From Grand Cayman to Bahamas and then onto Puerto Rico, I’m dreaming of white sand beaches, water slides, and new wonders. Here’s a glimpse of our January. Continue reading
