Arriving in Kampala, Uganda with Africa Adventure Safaris

Side Streets Outside of Kampala, Uganda

6 wild days in Uganda with Africa Adventure Safaris was the plan. My schedule included chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park, a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park rewarding me with game sightings such as hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffalo, a tree-climbing lion safari in Bwindi Forest National Park, and gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park. It all sounds made up, right? Well the actual experience was even more amazing and bizarre then it sounds. It all started with my arrival in Kampala. Continue reading

One of the Pride at Casela, Mauritius

Casela Safari

Casela Nature and Leisure Park in Mauritius is a 14 hectares park offering animal interactions and adventures for the entire family. For bold adventure lovers, there are quad, buggy and segway tours, the longest zip line circuit in the Indian Ocean including hanging bridges, hidden waterfalls of up to 20m in height, and Canyoning. For a tamer adventure, there is a safari, a playground, a petting farm, fishing, and an aviary. We were able to get up close and personal with several animals including zebras, ostrich, birds, deer, rabbits, giant tortoises, a lion and a bear. Yep, you read correctly – a lion and a bear. With tons of animal interaction, a timely transportation system, delicious dining with a view, and loads of trees for shade and natural beauty, Casela is an awesome place to spend the day with the whole family. Helping Me Find the Journey of a Lifetime – ATI Holidays

Group Pic, Namibia

My trip to Namibia was a press trip, planned and organized by Tourism Namibia and their PR firm in the US. I’d worked with tourism boards in the past but never a tour company on the ground until Namibia. ATI Holidays arranged almost all of our transportation, accommodations, activities, and meals. They had planned everything from our airport transfers to our daily excursions and as if that wasn’t enough, the owner, David, joined us on our life-changing Namibia adventure. He became as much a part of the reason for enjoying the trip as the experiences. Normally, I write solely about my adventures but often it’s the people I meet along the way that make it the most memorable.  Continue reading
