Bucket List Publications is also an Online Magazine

Online Magazine

Bucket List Publications first began as a blog under the name Indulge: Travel, Adventure, & New Experience. As ideas and articles began to develop, readers and followers flourished, but I wanted to make a difference in the virtual world, portraying stories written by international writers and sharing the unique reality of our bucket list adventures and extreme lifestyles. That’s when Darren, my husband, and I worked diligently to produce Bucket List Publications, a new online magazine found at http://www.bucketlistpublications.com/

Please follow along by entering your email address on the mainpage of Bucket List PublicationsThe blog and the magazine have separate “Follow Us” links. Don’t miss out on the great articles, contests, and giveaways on  Bucket List Publications Online Magazine

Bucket List Publications focuses on thriving aspects of adventure, travel, and the interesting dreams of other Bucket List Adventurers. As the name implies, Bucket List Publications is a unique perspective on bucket lists and adventures from around the globe. It portrays the beauty and limitless possibilities of bucket list seeker.

Our Team

Lesley Carter – Editor

Traveling and extremes have encompassed my life for 30 years; from white-water rafting, skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, rock climbing, dog sledding, base jumping, kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding, rappelling, and caving, I’ve tried every “bucketlist” adventure I could imagine. My wedding day in Jamaica even included a little bit of rock climbing followed by a trapeze act in my gown. Now that I’m 8 months pregnant a new type of adventure awaits. I’ve been to 33 countries and I have no intentions of stopping there. Although I think I’m going to need a baby backpack for my new way of travel, lots of adventures are still just around the corner.

Following our dreams of living in southern California taught me that the world is full of endless possibilities. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advanced English, a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Education, a Masters in Literacy, 8 years of teaching, and a vast imagination, I  decided to put my writing and editing skills to the test. Bucket List Publications in the accumulation of all of my wildest dreams come true. It is my heart and soul.

Darren Carter – Architect

Co-creating Bucket List Publications has combined my love for technology with my passion for adventure & travel. While Lesley is the gifted writer, I’ve been by her side for the ride of a lifetime. In less than 2 years we’ve visited 7 countries, moved across the continent, took part in the wildest, extreme adventures, got married, & started a family.

My career as a software architect allows me to contribute to Bucket List Publications & be part of Lesley’s dream. With Bucket List Publications, I know Lesley can instill the same “I feel like dancing” attitude in her readers & contributors. Our journey has just begun!

Check out Bucket List Publications and submit your own bucket list stories for publication.

“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”

    • Thank you!

I think a lot of people assume since they are following the blog, they are following the magazine as well, but that’s not the case. There are tons more articles, photos, and adventures on the magazine that I can’t cover on the blog. be sure to check it out and follow along.

I appreciate your support and hope to receive submissions from you,

      Lesley

    • Thanks for reading and following along. I feel so blessed to have lived so many of my dreams already and to make that happen for other people has been more rewarding than words can express. I recently had a contest for a free skydiving package and the winner was so grateful and excited that it made me feel like I was doing it all over again myself.

I love your photos. Keep up the great work,

      Lesley

  1. Lesley – I love living my life vicariously through your life! I am the mom of 4 children – all now teenagers. I love to travel, but have found that my time is so limited with kids activities that I never do it enough. However, they will all be off to college soon enough and life will be so quiet. I don’t want to wish the time away but can’t wait to go on some adventures with my husband. My favorite city in the world is Barcelona and I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to that amazing city.

    Love your blog!

    • I’m sure a world of travel is out there for you and you will love every minute of it. But I admire your motherhood adventure and I hope that my own is filled with sporting events, practices, and other activities.

Enjoy this time with your family and stay in touch,

      Lesley

  2. This is wonderful… but I don’t think that my travels are so adventurous… I call myself as a couch camper – I know it’s not a compliment – however, I love to imagine that I can be diving into the ground or soar into the sky… all the best for your online publication – I think it’s going to be a super success!

    • Thank you for the well wishes.

Your travels don’t need to include leaping off of buildings or surfing waves to be exciting for you. Everyone has a different version of a Bucket List or ideas on what they’d like to accomplish in their life. I hope you find something inspiring on Bucket List Publications 🙂

      • Yeah Lesley – that’s so true. For me, I feel my bucket list adventure(adventures actually) would be to be so inspired by our travels, people and ideas that I start inspiring others as well…:)

  3. This is an incredible accomplishment. I am in awe that you have followed your passions – mine is to write as well; I just don’t know what or how yet. I just know I want to write – freely – so that I can travel…freely. If that makes any sense…

    Off to explore vicariously.

  5. Hey Lesley — Congratulations on this great idea…your new magazine. I am looking forward to looking into it in more depth…Your lives do indeed sound like one grand and glorious adventure, but you are about to enter a realm of adventure unlike anything you have ever known. Motherhood will take you places you can’t even imagine right now, both good and bad. And don’t even think of holding onto your heart once you hold your precious little miracle in your arms for the first time. I am so excited for you…as the mom of three grown sons (24, 21, 18 — raised primarily as a single mom) that ride of a lifetime has completely taken my breath away while helping me to grow and heal and become the woman God wants me to be…AMAZING!! You will LOVE it. God bless you all with bunches and bunches of love, health and happiness your whole lives long…

  8. Recently I decided to work with my partner to come up with the Ultimate Bucket List or Life List (which ever you prefer) . I started out with your typical Top 10 things to do before you die list, but it quickly has ballooned to 45 things to do/see before you die. There are so many I broke it down into categories lol.

Id like to keep it going, see if anyone else has any “MUST DO’s” that I may have missed. Take a look and let me now if you think there is anything missing.

  10. Looks like you have found a great authentic niche in this world. I have been specializing in adventure consulting and blogging here in Western Montana for a number of years and operate the Downing Mountain Lodge for adventurous people year round. Maybe you wish to add backcountry skiing to your bucket list. Or some more rock climbing or mountain biking! Look us up if you ever come this way.

    • I looked into each company and their instructors before taking the leap. I think it’s important to be certain about the company you are jumping with. That being said, I feel more worried about my safety driving down the freeway, especially in California, than skydiving. There are risks with everything we do in life. Would you consider it?

      Like

      • Well, I’ve driven the streets and freeways of California for many years…but I don’t consider it as quite the possible risk that sky diving seems to be, despite the stats. However, I also consider that this is a world of “to each his own.” So, more power, (and safety), to both those who navigate the roads in every state, and to those who sky dive!

Thanks for your prompt reply, Lesley!

        • I first started skydiving back in the early 1980’s, when sex was safe and skydiving was dangerous. Funny world we live in, but now skydiving is safe and sex (can) be dangerous. Having said that, the safeguards that have been built into modern equipment is fantastic, and the training is to a much higher standard. Sure it has its risks, but when jumping I’ve found everyone is working towards the same common denominator – safety. I find that less so on the road…all food for thought though…
