When you live in southern California, 365 days a year can be beach days, and Darren and I spend a lot of time on the beach and at the park. We wanted a new outdoor game that was easy to set up and could be stored in the trunk of our car. The one and only patented Ladder Golf is a great alternative to the traditional outdoor games like Horseshoes, Bocce Ball, or Lawn Darts. Ladder Golf can be played on grass, sand, or concrete, both indoors and outdoors. Ladder Golf is light weight and portable enough to store just about anywhere, making it the perfect game for us.
Ladder Golf is played with 2 or more players or teams. Each player has 3 golf ball bolas. A bola is 2 golf balls attached by a nylon rope. The object of the game is to wrap your bolas around the steps of the ladder. The ladder consists of 3 steps, a top, middle and a bottom step.
The Ladder Golf game comes shipped in a handy carrying case. When not in use, the game can be broken down and it fits in the zipped-up, carrying bag. It’s easy to put together too; each ladder consists of a total of 7 pieces. The wooden legs and stands lock together with black knobs. Then, the ladders fit between both stands and are locked in place with another couple of black knobs. Total set up time is less than 5 minutes!
The game is surprisingly portable and sturdy. You don’t have to worry about it breaking or taking up too much space while traveling. It’s made of solid hardwood with brass hardware and durable unbreakable rungs. The bolos for the game are also well made. The Ladder Golf brand bolas are made with real golf balls, specially designed brass inserts, and nylon rope. All materials are resistant to wear and should offer a lifetime of game play. You’ll notice the quality of this yard game as soon as you open the box.
Overall, if you’re in the market for a great outdoor game, you can’t go wrong with Ladder Golf. Darren and I checked it out this weekend and we enjoyed two hours of play in the park. Hopefully next weekend we can pack it up and take it to the beach. It will certainly have a permanent spot in the truck of our car for regular use.
That looks like a lot of fun.

We don’t have our own game, but we’ve played it at picnics with friends. It’s really fun and harder to master than it looks!

Although there is some skill to it, it is fun for all ages. I can’t wait to play it with my 10 year old sister when she comes to visit. I think she’ll love it. Have you played it with children?

This is so much fun to play, we have a set in our camper! Except we call it Hillbilly Golf (and ours is homemade). You can spend hours with this game, beware it gets dangerous if you’ve consumed too many beverages!

I’ve heard of people making these out of PVC for the cross bars and drilling holes through golf balls for the bolos. Has anyone tried this? Does it hold up?

I have one. I didnt make it, I bought it. It is lighter than wood so easier to carry around, but It is not as durable though. Still, great fun.

The actual Ladder Golf original one, like I have, is really durable. I think it’s worth the extra money. I can see getting a lifetime of use out of it.

I’m happy to hear that young children enjoy it too. We recently took it to the beach and tons of people of all ages watched or took a short turn with us. It was an excellent conversation starter.
