You Caught My Pinterest

I heard about Pinterest months ago, maybe even a year ago, and I kept thinking I’ll check it out when I get a chance. Now, it seems to be a prominent source on the social media scene and I’m behind on the times, but I’m jumping on the bandwagon and loving the ride.

Pinterest Board

The idea is not new; it’s a basic think board, an online collection of your favorite images and photos in one convenient location. Pinterest is a content sharing service that allows members to “pin” images, videos, and other objects to their pinboard. Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

Bucket List Publications Pinterest BoardI only created a Pinterest account a few weeks ago, but I’m hooked. I added a board for Bucket List Publications and I’ve been posting my favorite articles there with links back to my blog! It’s the perfect way to expand your audience while having a place with a collection of your favorite things. When others share your pins, it expands the access to your blog as well. (Don’t forget to link your blog to your Pinterest account and add links back to your blog below Pinterest photos.)

My husband and I House Design Ideas from Pinterestspent two hours searching the DIY and Design categories last night. We found unique ideas for house projects and beautiful designs for our new home and pinned then on our Interior Design Ideas board. We’re in the process of building a house in Charlotte, NC and it can be overwhelming when planning and organizing everything. Having a think board on Pinterest allows us to save all of our ideas and return to them when that stage is upon us. It’s easy to change your pins and add news one when inspiration hits you.

As for adventures and travels, Pinterest is my new favorite place to go for inspiration. Wouldn’t it be cool to search the travel category on Pinterest and go to the first place that popped up? I might have to add that to next year’s bucket list.

Pinterest Boards

What to search for next? We are going to Georgia next week so I think I’ll head on over to Pinterest and see what images await in Georgia, USA.

Follow along with my Pinterest life and see what we have in store next.

  2. It’s one of those things I’m going to have a look at one of these days (along with backing up my blog). Some of the images I’ve seen on there are pretty cool though. I’ll be following yours and hopefully make time someday soon.

  3. yes I have an account but have done zero with it so far, although its predicted to surpass facebook within a year or two so maybe I’ll transfer my time on-line over to it eventually though I think blogging is the ultimate – even though my latest blog is only a few weeks old, I’ve been blogging for over 40 years, though for the first part of those years it was called a written journal and you had to stick photos in it with glue, once you’d had the film developed. Everything is so throw away nowadays except nothing ever gets truly thrown away but goes to a between life state known as ‘archives’ which only the archive masters can access……..anyway, yes pinterest 🙂

  4. I love pinterest and I’m following you! Here is a little tip – go to settings, then email settings – have a good look at these and turn a few OFF – otherwise you will be bombarded by continuous emails which soon get a bit ‘spammy’ especially if you accept invites to group boards. Otherwise it’s GREAT!

  6. I love Pinterest and have been on it for almost two years. I have lost hours of my life dreaming of all the possibilities and even making a few things too. Just a word of warning – when a workout on Pinterest says it’s intense…it usually is.
