  1. Given I’m a risk manager in my “real life”, I think the quote about risking the “now” on the bet you may have the future to spend on doing what you really really want, resonated the strongest with me. Great quotes!

  2. I like the first one best. I thought this 3 years ago and it has taken 3 years to get out of the complete disaster which had become my life. ( life is a journey remember) My life is fabulous now so I advise all young people if they make a mistake, own up to it and set about cleaning up the mess. It is worth it when you come out the other side. : ) Off to Japan next year.

  4. My favourite quote is actually one I heard during the London Olympics, “Fate is what you get, destiny is what you do with it”. A good motto.

  5. They’re all great quotes, but the first one has come to mind a number of times, like when a lava bomb flew over my while watching an active volcano. Looking back, I defintiely think I was doing it right 🙂

  6. Your quotes are awesome! Since I like books as well as traveling, I think my favorite travel quote is the St. Augustine one, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

  7. Travel and meet yourself , as you meet others. When you want to fly, take a dive from the roof top strap yourself, feel the thrill , yell or scream, it is not a dream ..it s leap :))

  12. These are wonderful inspirational reminders. This quote, especially, made me sit for a while and evaluate how I go about things: “Your Life Is A Product Of Your Thoughts, What You Think About All Day Becomes The Basis Of Your Life.” Thank you for sharing.

  14. Very awesome quotes. I’m loving these two: “travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us,” that one is truly awesome. Worthy of a refrigerator magnet. And then “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” Very cool.

  15. One of my favorite quotations is by Cesare Pavese: “Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things — air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky — all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.”

  16. I love the one about the risk you take by not doing what you want at the time thinking you will buy yourself the freedom to do what you want later in life. So True. Life is too short to keep waiting for the right time, before you know it you’ve spent your whole life sitting around waiting for life to happen, and it has passed you by. I never thought we would move abroad but I am so pleased we did, am loving all the experiences we are having as a little family.
