Terrence Ross Wins the Slam Dunk Contest

What an amazing night! The 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest was unbelievable. I’m NBA All-Star 2013hooked! I’ve never been to a lot of professional sporting events so my only real knowledge of it was what I saw on tv, but you can’t compare the experience of actually being immersed in the environment to sitting at home on your couch. The energy, the people, the comments, the vibe from the crowd of thousands is overwhelming. Combine that with some serious dunks from the best of the best and you have a situation where being awake is better than your wildest dreams.

Thanks to QuintEvents, I’m actually so busy with amazing NBA All-Star Game events that I won’t have time for a full post until I get home. Today, I’ll spend the rest of my afternoon at the NBA All-Star Jam Session followed by an NBA Events Pre Event Hospitality Ticket and the NBA All-Star Game! If that doesn’t sound like an extreme “bucket list” NBA day, just add on the On-Court Experience after the game. Yep, it doesn’t get any better!

NBA All-Star 2013

I couldn’t leave you hanging without showing you a highlight from Terrence Ross’s winning dunk last night at the 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest so here’s a link to the NBA YouTube page where Terrence throws down some serious dunks to take home the win.

I have to catch my shuttle, but enjoy your day; mine is just about to begin.

    • WOW! Today was the best day yet! I just got back from the All-Star Game and I think I could run a marathon. I’m on a high! What an experience. It’s something that everyone needs to do at least once, even if you’re not a sports fan. Wooooooohooooooooo!

  1. I keep meaning to comment on your posts, I’m following along and I want to thank you for inspiring the world. I wanted to tell you I really enjoyed how you opened up in that one post about your past and voting for your video…your dreams match mine! I wanted to enter the video contest but my Mac computer died so it’s been slow to make a video 😦 But I wish you the best, I’m sure you’ll win and I’ll be voting for ya, tweeting and sharing on my new blog to inspire (coming soon!) P.S – I would love for you to write a post about what you did/how long it took, to pay off your student loans…I’m drowning ($70,000) and feel locked down. I’ve been leaving the country every year since I was 17…so this is an adjustment to say the least. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!! Much love. XX

    • While there is no secret to how I paid off my loans, I don’t think it’s a solution for most. Basically, I moved to the extreme north and taught for two years. That really put a dent in my loans since housing and a lot of experiences were paid along with a high salary. Most people don’t see living in -70 as an option though, and I totally understand. After that, I taught full time and picked up jobs on the side. I lived like a struggling student for years after I graduated. I could put something together for you in way of a post though. Give me a few days and I’ll see what I can come up with. 🙂

  2. Having actually dunked a basketball in my high school days I have appreciation for them. Slam dunk contest become boring, but the ones you posted are incredible. Nevertheless it sure beats bowling.

      • Oh no. but I actually did one in a game, quite uncommon in my high school day. It was considered show-boating, which I was doing. It was called for goal tending and my coach was so mad he took me out of the game. “never do that again,” he scolded. My, how things have changed. It’s pretty common today.

  3. Being within an experience allows more layers of feelings of a moment. The focus is the game but vibrations of the room echo onto everyone with energy of positive energy which enhances our feelings,  roaring crowd, our friends. I am glaf you share positive energy of your moments in time with us because you will receive residues of energy from those that read your excitement.
