As I moved and wandered about the terrace of Château de l’Empéri in Salon-de-Provence, Felice Varini’s monumental painting danced and came alive, taking on new shapes and forms with each step. It is one of the most unique artistic creations that I’ve seen and it offered a whole new angle on Salon-de-Provence.
Can you tell from the picture that the shapes take on a new form from every angle?
Marseille’s cultural and architectural gems are around every corner. With each turn, I stumbled upon something unique, something I’d never seen before, something that made me say, “WOW!” While many of the artistic creations are permanent fixtures in Marseille, this one will only remain until the end of this European Capital of Culture year. Check it out while you can.
*This journey was made possible with help from Atout France; however, as you probably know by now, all opinions & thoughts are my own.*
Love those Mediterranean roofs and colours.

I have been to various parts of the Med on cruise ships, so most of the traveling on land was with the organized tours. Still wonderful though. 🙂

I like to make photo books like Shutterfly of my travels. It would be great to hang them on the wall but I think I’d run out of space 😉 Do you print your photos?

I’ve done several things with photos, but none to my satisfaction. I want to try Shutterfly, especially for pictures of my granddaughter growing up way too fast!

That’s brilliant! Until you mentioned it was an art installation I would have just assumed the buildings there were always painted that way. Thanks for sharing.

HI Lesley,
What a wonderful blog! I am book marking the family section, as my husband is a huge adventure travel guy, and is always looking for things to do with our 2 boys. He might also be interested in submitting a story sometime, as he is also a writer and has done much travel writing. Family adventure is something we are currently exploring.
Take care, Diana Ray

I have a 17 month old daughter and we still find ways to experience travel and adventure with her at our side. It’s a little more difficult at such a young age, but we find ways to make it work. have you been traveling with your two boys?
