The Hilton Waikoloa Village offers some of the most spectacular views that I’ve ever experienced in my life. From sunrises to sunsets, the views are all postcard worthy.
This morning I captured a sunrise from my hotel room and last night a captured a sunset. I can’t decide which one brings me more happiness. I just keep looking at both of them. The sunrise experience was accompanied by birds singing, ocean waves lapsing on the shore, and playful dolphins whistling and clicking outside our window. We were able to experience all of that from our balcony while still in our pajamas. The sunset, though, was accompanied by a romantic stroll alongside the ocean, a light breeze against our faces, and the soft sound of music from Kamuela Provision Company (KPC) restaurant. Don’t pinch me because I don’t want to wake up.
Do you prefer a sunrise or a sunset? I guess it really doesn’t matter in Hawaii; it’s all unbelievable.
I am a real Hawaii lover. Lots of Hawaii photos on my site find the “Paradise” drop down in the header, and the “Hawaii” button. I expect to return in less than 6 months.

We stayed there last summer and I loved it. We don’t normally “do” resorts but it was fun for a change. P.S. If you continue on past the walkway, down the steps and over some lava rocks, there is a wonderful trail that runs along the beach. Cheers and enjoy!

Great tip! I’ll check it out tomorrow morning. It might make for a good sunrise viewing spot 🙂

Both. Sunrise out surfing and sunset dinner on the lanai.

It’s not always a preference. If you want richer color, it’s sunsets because there are particulates in the air which reflect more and warmer color. Of course, that for making pictures. Given the choice for my time, it’s sunrises.

Grrrrr8 sunset! Love Hawaii. We’ve stayed at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott about 5 years ago. My posts from Maui last year: http://fairplay740.wordpress.com/?s=maui

Glad you are enjoying the Big Island of Hawaii! Have you had a chance to see the monk seals who frequent the bay or “Elvis” the abnormally large size barracuda in the boat canal? I vote for sunrise on Mauna Kea and sunset boat cruise along the Kohala Coast sipping a delicious mango margarita.

Seeing your post made me miss Hawaii. I used to own a property in the Big Island and I completely regret selling it. 😦 Enjoy the beautiful island has to offer. 🙂

I can’t wait to experience Hawaiian sunrises and sunsets for myself in a couple of months. I’m especially looking forward to to seeing sunrise from the top of Haleakala on Maui.
Keep the Bucket List ideas coming!
