Hilton Waikoloa Village introduced us to the flavors and tastes of Hawaii. We enjoyed a Kona Lobster Burger from Lagoon Grill, island fish at KPC, and an expansive Luau buffet at the Legends of Hawaii Luau. From fine dining to relaxed outdoor settings, we explored the local food creations of Hawaii.
The Lagoon Grill experience was definitely unique. We watched the resident dolphins splash and play from this outdoor Waikoloa beach grill. We enjoyed a delicious lunch including an American Kobe Burger, a Kona Lobster Burger, fries, onion rings, and tropical drinks. With locally farmed lobster and a Wagyu beef patty, we didn’t have to go far to get a local taste. The casual outdoor atmosphere was ideal for our afternoon at the lagoon. Topping off the experience, we shared a Chocolate Pecan Brownie with Tropical Dreams vanilla ice cream. Rather than jumping back in the water after our elaborate lunch, we relaxed at our table and took in a dolphin encounter happening right before our eyes. It was lunch and a show.
The breathtaking views of Waiulua Bay and a perfect sunset added to the creative “Hawaiian Regional” cuisine with fresh, locally grown ingredients at Kamuela Provision Company restaurant. Grilled beef tenderloin, grilled, local lobster tail, mashed potatoes, and asparagus filled my plate and my belly. It’s a rare occurrence for me to pass on dessert but I just couldn’t find the room. Our dinner started at 7 pm, but hours later we were still enjoying the beautiful night and slight breeze at KPC.
Featuring ample island favorites, the Legends of the Pacific Luau was a cornucopia of taste. My plate included roasted kalua pig, Teriyaki chicken, sweet potatoes, rice, and fruits. Interactive demonstrations, exotic Polynesian dances and music of the Pacific Rim, and the traditional imu presentation highlighted the evening and added to the Hawaiian environment.
From exotic flavors, tropical cocktails, quick snacks, and local favorites, Hilton Waikoloa Village satisfied all my taste buds in a vast variety of settings. After 5 days at Hilton Waikoloa Village, I’m going to need a few extra days at the gym.
mouthwatering food and views
