Let it Rain at Marriott’s Harbour Lake, Florida

Marriott-Vacation-Club---Harbour-Lake

The rain was coming down in buckets when I arrived at Marriott’s Harbour Lake, A Marriott Vacation Club Resort, in Orlando, Florida today. I was discouraged. I’m only here for three days; I didn’t want to spend one of them with nothing to do. When I checked in, though, and was handed the resort activity guide, my mood instantly changed. Their guide reads like a phone book. I  took it with me to lunch at The Patio and started planning my mini-vacation. For the next hour, I enjoyed exceptional service and delicious food. Now, the rain has gone and my week is looking brighter.

I ordered chicken tenders and cheese fries but I couldn’t decide on a sauce for the chicken. The waitress suggested that I try them all. A little shocked that that was even an option, I jumped at the chance to appease all of my taste buds. When my lunch arrived, I realized I’d ordered enough for two people. The servings were huge. The quantity was equally matched by quality and I did a decent job at polishing off both plates. Don’t judge; with food that tasty, it’s difficult to stop.

My choices for today include ice cream sundaes at the arcade, pool chair trivia at the Shipwreck Pool, mini golf at Key Lime Greens, a wine and cheese social at the Den, and Monday night football. Rather than packing everything in at once, I decided to select two options. I can’t pass up the ice cream sundaes so I’m heading in that direction shortly. Then, I’m going to attend the Wine & Cheese Social at 6 pm. Rain or shine, Marriott’s Harbour Lake is full of unique, fun activities.

I’ll be sure to take lots of photos, especially of the ice cream, and post this evening. I’m sticking with the more relaxed events today, but tomorrow will include pirate ships, water slides, mini-golf, volleyball, and water balloon toss. I like to mix it up.

*This journey was made possible with help from Marriott Vacation Club; however, as you probably know by now, all opinions & thoughts are my own.*

  2. There’s plenty to do in Orlando rain or shine. You’ll have a blast! If you like mini-golf, check out Disney’s Fantasia Gardens. Have fun!

    • I thought about going to a theme park tomorrow, but with so much to do here I might stay on the property.

Is Disney’s Fantasia Gardens just mini-golf or are there other activities there as well? It sounds tempting.

  3. You were next door to our timeshare, Marriott Cypress Harbour. We haven’t had an opportunity to visit since 2009 and I really miss going. Tried to rent for $700.00, but got no takers….oh well, maybe one day we’ll get a chance to return.

  4. we call rain “liquid sunshine” here. don’t be discouraged, there are LOTS of things to do despite the rain, if you need ideas, let me know. I’ve lived here for 26 years now and the rain is a minor inconvenience. I actually love it when it rains here. It’s so peaceful and calming, and it brings down the temperatures, which is a welcome respite. Enjoy your time and let me know if I can help in any way.
