10 countries and countless cities made it on my 2013 Bucket List. France, Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Jordan, Aruba, Curacao, Canada, USA, Mexico, and Fiji were all part of my whirlwind of adventures and new experiences. I never envisioned such an amazing year of opportunity; my life continues to be a dream come true. I am blessed. Some people create a bucket list because they are dying; I created one because I want to live.
Here are my top ten favorite travel photos from 2013.
Number 10 – The King’s Highway, Jordan
Number 9 – The Streets of Marseille
Number 8 – Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic
Number 7 – Pink Shell Beach Resort, Florida
Number 6 – Castaway Island, Fiji
Number 5 – Children Jumping from a Pier in Curacao
Number 4 – Petra Marriott Hotel
Number 3 – The Big Island, Hawaii
Number 2 – Bermuda
Number 1 – Curacao
Would you change the order? Which one is your favorite?
I love the very first (cover) photo best – there’s something magical about a wing slicing through the air, supporting 200 tons of people and aircraft at 90% the speed of sound. (Plus there’s something particularly appealing about not having to walk or drive everywhere you want to travel…)

Funny, I never even considered that photo. I just needed something of mine that was somewhat generic 😉 Everyone has a unique eye for travel photos.

I love the way you have written ‘Some people create a bucket list because they are dying; I created one because I want to live.’ I must share this. I like the jumping off pic the most – it’s highly liberating:)

That is a favorite of many. I just snapped it before he turned the corner. When I got back to the hotel and saw the photo, I was so happy with it. It will be a favorite for many years to come. Have you been to France?

Number three is important to me as well. I have been dreaming about Hawaii since I was a child and I finally made it a reality this year. It was as magical as I’d dreamed, making the photos even more memorable. Do you have a favorite photo of your own from this year?

The bridge to nowhere/everywhere has to be my favorite this morning. Makes me feel grateful for the limitlessness of this grand universe and yet humble that we are such a small part of it!
I am curious to know if you plan your trips yourself or if you use an agent? Have you ever planned a trip for more than 20 people?
Best!

Most trips are planned by the tourism board as press trips. I do plan/organize some of my trips but they are usually more national rather than international. I’ve never planned a trip for more than 5 people, except our wedding in Jamaica. 😉
Why do you ask? Do you plan large group trips?

#2 A short dock! I see the fleeting nature of man’s toil reclaimed by the sea, begging the viewer to join in its ultimate dissolution. Or maybe it’s just a rusty pier, I dunno?

What a magnificent blog – these pictures took my breath away.
In my mind, I’m a traveler. I’ve not been able to connect the thoughts with the deed, but I will. I hope to travel the globe with my son. He wants to start with China. Since he can barely survive a plane ride to Florida without an attack of the “get me outta here,” I told him we have to stay a little more local. (we live in NJ).
He wants to travel to another country. We may start with Canada. A more manageable trip with a hyper 10 year old.
I’ll be back for more!

Hello Lesley
Wonderful pictures every one. I reckon Number 9, The Streets of Marseille, would be my choice. It has the air of contentment, a life well lived and where buckets would have, in an earlier age, been used to carry water, not dreams. How life has changed for many of us.
Thank you for sharing your travels. I hope Australia is there in your bucket somewhere, sometime. You would be amazed.
Every blessing.
