Water Slide Fun at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort

Water slide at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach

Today we arrived at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort and we had one of the best days of our trip. It wasn’t because we went on an exotic excursion or because we were immersed in the culture, although I do love those as well. It was because Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort and a 55 metres water slide and a huge pool. It’s like having a water park at the hotel.

Now that Athena can swim, traveling with her is an entirely different experience. We have a blast playing games together in the pool and Darren and I are like big kids anyway so it just increases the fun.

We started out with a few under water high fives but we swallowed too much water from laughing so hard. Athena was adorable with her goggles and loved pretending to be a mermaid. Every time she looked at me under water, I would burst out laughing.

Then, we took turns going down the water slide with Athena. It was two flights of stairs for every trip down the slide but it was worth every step. I tried going down with the cushion and without the cushion. I tried going on my back and face first and I even tried going down backwards.

Athena was equally brave. The expression on her face during the first trip down the slide was priceless. I was so glad I offered to catch her first.

By the middle of the day, she was going down face first and carrying the camera herself. We could hear her laughing and singing all the way down the slide.

We’re having so much fun in Phuket. It isn’t just the cultural experiences that are making the trip memorable; it’s the time we are spending together and the company that we keep.

  1. That’s the beauty of going down a waterslide in a foreign country- no rules on going down backward or face first! Every waterslide I’ve been to in the US has a lifeguard at the bottom ready to yell at you if you don’t go down feet first 😉
