Ask And You Shall Receive

Bermuda Travel

I told a friend that I was considering a six month trip around the world or at least nonstop travel for six months. A few hours later she messaged me about a Canadian couple who are looking to sublet a furnished apartment during the same dates that I was thinking about traveling. Do you believe in the power of the universe? Fate? Positive energy? I don’t know what to call it or if I believe in any of that stuff but things in my life seem to line up for a reason. I think I’m going to do it!

Today, the daughter of the couple came to look at my place and talk about the possibilities. She loved it and I like the idea of subletting to an older Canadian couple. I think it could work. It gives me a more specific time frame and I don’t need to worry about getting rid of my place completely. I won’t need to store my stuff and I have a place to come home to after six months.

That’s the first step. Now, to plan six months of travel with a four year old and no direction.
Bellafonte Bonaire Ocean View I think I’m going to start in Bonaire. It’s one of the most relaxing, beautiful Caribbean places I’ve been. Then, it’s a quick flight to Curacao and Aruba and a cheap flight to Jamaica. I could easily spend the entire time in the Caribbean while wrapping my head around what’s next.

There are some things I’ve yet to figure out like short flights from Caribbean islands that would seem like an easy process are very complicated and expensive. Should we stay in all warm locations and avoid packing for extreme variations in temperature? Should I try to book flights in advance or start with the first one way flight? Even with the “Ask and you shall receive” attitude, there is still a lot up in the air.

Have you had any similar situations where things just seemed to fit like puzzle pieces falling into place yet you still don’t know what the entire puzzle is yet?

    • It’s crazy! I thought it would be easy to fly from Jamaica to Dominican Republic but there are no direct flights. I think I have to fly back to Miami and then to Dominican. Oh the insanity… I will figure it all out. 🙂

  1. It’s because you thought about in a way that made it possible, things will come to us if we realize that’s it could happen and then let it, or allow it to happen. The same thing works for bad stuff, or just more of the same thing everyday.

  2. Two suggestions since long tours are what we do in my other life. 🙂

Think of six months in sections. We would call them tours legs. Only book flights for one segment, however long you decide to make that be. That gives you the ability to make changes as you two travel. Flexibility is everything.

And, travel light. You know that. You also know that you can buy winter clothes along the way if you decide to go to colder places. Besides, your daughter will do a little growing. There is a good chance that the clothes she started with won’t be the clothes she ends with. 🙂
