It’s hard to believe we’ve already been in the Caribbean for more than two weeks and we’re at our last hotel, Renaissance Curacao, of this trip. After extreme relaxation and rest, it’s nice to be in the capital city of Curaçao. The Renaissance Curacao is in the heart of the city yet it can still feel worlds away when you want it to.
Our suite is on the corner of the property overlooking the ocean. It has comfortable beds and cozy linens. It’s not huge but for the amount of time we spend in the room, it’s everything that we need. We usually focus more on amenities like air-conditioning and a mini-fridge rather than the size of the room. The view is pretty remarkable as well.
When we opened the patio doors, we were greeted with the warm Caribbean air and a magical view of a cruise ship docked next to the resort. The sunset coupled nicely with the colors of the ship to create a picture-perfect setting.
You can also see the cruise ship from the infinity pool located on the second floor of the hotel. I’ve been in lots of infinity pools before but never a second floor infinity beach.
Renaissance Curacao created a mini beach on the second floor of the hotel, equipped with sand and salt water. It overlooks the harbor so you can basically swim next to ships and boats passing by.
The ship looks just as well-lit from the pool during the sunset.
We have easy access to activities and the city from the hotel but we struggle with leaving when we’re surrounded by such beauty. Tomorrow we’re going to visit a few beaches on the island but we’re going to make sure to be back in time again for the sunset.
Looks like you’ve been having a wonderful time on Curacao! We are thinking of planning a family Christmas vacation there (all adult children now) and your posts have provided some inspiration. Hope you enjoy the final days on the beach!

I love Curacao. It’s one of my favorite Caribbean islands. Please let me know if you have any questions. I have tons of recommendations, including car rentals, accommodations, activities, and dining.

It seems the sky, clouds and the sun look different there. Is there something which can not be felt through the pictures?

That was the coolest part for us. It was like it was in the pool with us.

For beaches a drive up to the NW is a must. Our favourite beach was Grote Knip, which has lots of parking.

Looking forward to seeing your photos. Curacao, which I first visited back in the 70’s, is my favourite island.
