Becoming Iron Woman with St. Thomas Flyboarding

I seek adventures that scare me. Living life on the other side of my fears is the greatest reward possible. While in St. Thomas, USVI, I had the opportunity to try flyboarding over the pristine waters of Lindbergh Bay with St. Thomas Flyboarding. I was scared; heck, I was petrified. Flying 30 feet above the crystal blue waters, diving like a dolphin, or even trying a backflip or two all sound intimidating enough but strapping a water jetpack board to my feet while doing it is just plan insane. I’m not Ironman; these are things in movies and dreams about the future, right? Nope! It’s the here and now and I did it; and let me tell you – it is absolutely exhilarating, insane, and beyond awesome! Ultimate Life Bucket List

The more unrealistic we are with our dreams and goals, the more we’re able to achieve!

My life list is ever-changing, always growing; that’s why I create a yearly list. My 2012 Bucket List included things like fly a jetpack, swim with whale sharks, experience aerobatics in a biplane, and delivery my baby girl.  My 2013 Bucket List is well under way; there are 50 items on this year’s list so I have a fun year ahead.

Overall, these are the things I’d like to accomplish in my life. I usually choose from these each year and add new ones as I see fit.

2013 Bucket List

Exploring Fiji, piloting a helicopter, airplane, glider, jet pack, and biplane, swimming with beluga whales and whale sharks, planning bucket list adventures for others, reaching 10 million blog views, and delivering a beautiful baby sound like a lifetime of accomplishments  but they were just part of my 2012 Bucket List. The more unrealistic I am with my dreams and goals, the more I am able to achieve so I’ve created another list for 2013 with equally beautiful dreams.  Some people create a bucket list because they are dying; I created one because I want to live.

2013 Bucket List:

1. Go on an African Safari
2. Move into our new home and finish decorating
3. Take Athena to swim with dolphins
4. Visit a new state (USA)
5. Visit Petra
6. Take a helicopter tour over Hawaii
7. Swim in the Dead Sea
8. Be in Ottawa on Canada Day
9. Do a manta ray night snorkel

10 days in Fiji already sounds like a dream. Add on whitewater rafting, snorkeling, riding onSkydive Fiji a catamaran and a jet boat, ziplining, hiking to two waterfalls, visiting 5 resorts and a village, and driving buggies and it starts to sound like The Amazing Race. Just when I thought it was physically impossible to add any more to our itinerary, we decided, on our last day in Fiji, to take the plunge and jump from an airplane with Skydive Fiji. When I first experienced a biplane adventure in southern California with Biplane Fun, I Biplane-Adventures,-Inc.didn’t know what to expect. As we plummeted toward the earth my screams of excitement could be heard for miles. My search for extreme adventure had brought me to that point and I didn’t think it would ever be matched. Then, when I was scouring the internet for bucket list items to do during my trip to Georgia, I found another biplane aerobatics company: Biplane Adventures, Inc.. Even though I’d already experienced a biplane flight, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to flip, turn, plummet, and somersault through the sky once again. Rising with the Sun – Hot Air Ballooning over Atlanta, Georgia

We found new meaning to “rising with the sun”.Balloon Atlanta

On Saturday morning, at 7am, we gracefully floated up through the sky with a sea of colors above our heads. As the sun made its first appearance for the day, the golden rays warmed the sky and our world was brighter. We were floating above Atlanta in a basket built for four below a gigantic balloon built for the sky. What a way to experience a sun rise! We booked our journey with Great American Days and flew with Balloon Atlanta creating another unforgettable bucket list adventure. Life is more beautiful when you are in the sky.  Continue reading →

You Gotta Bleep that **** – Bungee Jumping, California

This Friday, I will be flying, or falling, through the air yet again, but this time I will be Bungee Jumping Californiastrapped to a chair at least. I’m going to ride the Sling-Shot at the amusement park in Virginia Beach. As soon as I mentioned the possibility of the experience, readers prompted me to video tape the adventure, reminding me of our video archives of countless extreme “falls”.
