It’s hard to believe we’ve already been in the Caribbean for more than two weeks and we’re at our last hotel, Renaissance Curacao, of this trip. After extreme relaxation and rest, it’s nice to be in the capital city of Curaçao. The Renaissance Curacao is in the heart of the city yet it can still feel worlds away when you want it to. Santa Barbara Beach Resort Curacao
As part of our first international trip of 2017, we’re staying in Curacao at Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort, a nestled beachfront resort along the Caribbean Sea within a 2,000 acre gated plantation. We only arrived yesterday, but it’s been heaven on earth already. Here’s a quick glimpse of our first two days at Santa Barbara. Continue reading
Ask And You Shall Receive
I told a friend that I was considering a six month trip around the world or at least nonstop travel for six months. A few hours later she messaged me about a Canadian couple who are looking to sublet a furnished apartment during the same dates that I was thinking about traveling. Do you believe in the power of the universe? Fate? Positive energy? I don’t know what to call it or if I believe in any of that stuff but things in my life seem to line up for a reason. I think I’m going to do it! Continue reading
Redeeming Myself By Swimming With Whale Sharks
A few years ago, I attempted to swim with whale sharks at the Georgia Aquarium. I was petrified and without enough warning to do anything productive, I passed out in the tank. My journey with the gentle giants ended in darkness, cut short by my fear and denial. One of the activities offered from Grand Residences Riviera Cancun is swimming with whale sharks in the ocean and I jumped at the opportunity to redeem myself after my epic fail with whale sharks the last time. Continue reading
Impressive Suites & Vistas at Grand Residences Cancun
I arrived at Grand Residences Cancun yesterday and I was expecting a beautiful suite with an ocean view, it is Cancun after all, but I wasn’t expecting the size of my suite, what I found on the terrace or the extent of the vistas. Color me impressed with Grand Residences. The suite is in the top five best suites I’ve ever experienced and the views make me want to stay up 24 hours a day. Continue reading
Dominica is Packed with Awesomeness
I had breakfast at Evergreen Hotel, toured the city Roseau, hiked to Trafalgar Falls, swam in hot springs, relaxed on Mero Beach, dined at Romance Cafe and enjoyed flyboarding with Nature Island Adventure Tours. That’s not my full week itinerary; that’s what I did today in Dominica. Continue reading
What A Crazy Beautiful Day in Dominica
I arrived in Dominica today. After long flights and crappy layovers because of an even crappier airline, I was feeling frustrated and annoyed. I wasn’t sure if Dominica was worth the hassle. Then, I got here and all my questions were answered. It is one of the most beautiful, natural islands I’ve ever visited and definitely worth the flight. Continue reading

Experience it all at Windjammer Landing, St. Lucia
Family vacations don’t have to be boring. Traveling with toddler can be as adventurous as traveling solo if you’re creative and use the resources available. Athena and I just returned from the luxurious Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia where we were able to visit a waterfall, ride a catamaran, snorkel in the ocean, swim in the pool, kayak the bay, do the limbo, and run along the beach. I also rode “Big Mama”, toured the bay and snorkeled, played on the ocean trampoline, and water-skied while Athena enjoyed the Jacquot Fun Club, made her own tie dye t-shirt, danced, sang, and played with other kids. I was able to manage all of this in one week as a solo parent with a toddler; Windjammer Landing makes it possible for anyone.
