It’s no secret that I’m always dreaming about travel possibilities. Like a drug addict, travel consumes me. I could be in the middle of an enthralling conversation with a celebrity and I’d still find a way to direct my thoughts to new destinations. Working on sponsored posts for companies like Contiki has only increased my travel obsession. Have you ever wondered what places top the list for travel writers? Contiki has asked me to think about the most popular destinations for people to travel in the New Year. While my own personal list might not statistically be the most popular destinations, I’d bet that most of the places have a spot on your list. This year, Namibia, St. Lucia, Germany, Latvia, and Austria topped my list of favorite travel destinations. Here are my top bucket list picks for 2015. I haven’t visited any of these destinations, which is why they are on my 2015 list. I may not be able to visit them all, but the more unrealistic we are with our dreams and goals, the more we are able to achieve. I’m putting them out into the universe and we’ll see how it goes.

Should We Go Big or Stay Home for the Holidays This Year?
With trips to Mexico, St. Lucia, and Hawaii coming up before December, we’re starting to think about the holidays. Should we go big or stay home this year? Since I started writing a few sponsored posts for Contiki, I haven’t been able to get off of their site or get a few destinations out of my mind. It’s become a starting board for me; a place where dreams begin and the wheels start turning for new adventures. Thailand has moved up on my list as well as Australia. Darren only has so much vacation time; maybe we should utilize it for a Asian or Australian vacation. Do we need to be in our home to enjoy the holidays? Let’s weigh the options. Continue reading
How to Travel with a Toddler
Too many tour companies claim to offer family travel experiences only to venture to their site and learn that families must not consist of babies. I have a 14 month old and I want to travel the world. Where are all of the true family tour companies? Even Adventures by Disney, yep, that’s right, Disney, has a minimum age of four. No wonder couples are putting off having children until later in life. Are we really that restricted when we have children? Are toddlers not considered part of “family travel”? Are there no other adventures parents out there that would like to bring their children to experience new countries and cultures? Continue reading

Some people create a bucket list because they are dying, I created one because I want to live!
Six months, six continents, ALL EXPENSES PAID, my choice of destinations, and $50,000 cash when I return. Does it get any better than that?
With 30 days until entries close, I am currently in 2nd place in My Destination’s Biggest, Baddest Bucket List! There is a lot of contest left though and I’d like to remain at the top of the pack going into the next round. I’ve been working hard to maintain my status, gaining interviews with the Cape Breton Post and the Halifax Herald, but I still need your regular votes.

The more unrealistic we are with our dreams and goals, the more we’re able to achieve!
My life list is ever-changing, always growing; that’s why I create a yearly list. My 2012 Bucket List included things like fly a jetpack, swim with whale sharks, experience aerobatics in a biplane, and delivery my baby girl. With only a few items left, I’ve been thinking about my 2013 list.
Overall, these are the things I’d like to accomplish in my life. I usually choose from these each year and add new ones as I see fit.
“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.”

What is the Best Country for Adventure Travel?
I live for adventure travel! The thought of it consumes my life. Whenever I visit a new country, I search for the best adventure that they offer. Traveling and extremes have encompassed my life for 30 years; from white-water rafting and ziplining in Costa Rica, skydiving and base jumping in Switzerland, paragliding, helicopter flight lessons, jet pack flying, biplane flying, and glider flying in California, bungee jumping in Alberta, rock climbing, caving, and rappeling in New Brunswick, dog sledding and helicopter touring in Alaska, boogie boarding in Nova Scotia, and swimming with dolphins in Mexico, I’ve tried every “bucket list” adventure I could imagine. My wedding day in Jamaica even included a little bit of rock climbing followed by a trapeze act in my gown. I’ve been to 34 countries and I have no intentions of stopping there. Following my dreams and living life to the fullest has taught me that the world is full of endless possibilities and I share that with my readers.
But have a visited the most adventurous country or is there somewhere I need to add to my adventure travel bucket list? With a substantial amount of travel followers, I’m sure you can help me decide.
