A Photo Journey through Atlantis, Bahamas

Royal Tower, Atlantis, Bahamas

Trying to explain everything that Atlantis, Paradise Island has to offer in one post would be impossible. Surprises and unique adventures were around every corner. From water slides, marine habitats, adventure currents, nightly entertainment, spas, sports, and a casino, it was important to pick favorites and cover those activities first because the endless adventures would provide a lifetime of entertainment. Follow our Atlantis journey through a series of my favorite photos.  Continue reading

A Resort for All Generations – Atlantis, Bahamas

Atlantis, The Royal Tower

I’ve found it! A resort that offers bucket list activities for all generations from grandparents to grandchildren from mothers to daughters. With scheduled entertainment, a marine habitat, a water park, and extreme water adventures, my mother, my sister, my daughter, and I all crossed items off of our list while staying at Atlantis, Bahamas. Offering the world’s largest open-air marine habitat, a 63-acre Aquaventure waterpark, and the largest conference space in the Caribbean, Atlantis is a palace fit for a bucket list lifestyle.  Continue reading

What’s Your Biggest Fear?

Sea Trek Walking with Sharks

What’s your biggest fear; something so paralyzing that it gives you shivers just thinking about it? Just two years ago, I was so desperately afraid of marine life that the sight of a minnow sent me in the opposite direction. I loved to swim and I spent my entire life in the water, but I could never even think about what lurked below. I was curious but too afraid. Today was a monuments day for attacking my fears head-on. I walked with 22 sharks, 20 feet under water with Sea Trek at Atlantis, Bahamas and a state-of-the-art clear-glass helmet and I will never look at my fears the same way again.  Continue reading

Lost in Time Together at The Dig, Atlantis

The Dig, Atlantis, Bahamas

Today, Athena and I embarked on a journey through the streets and tunnels of the fabulous lost city of Atlantis while admiring stunning marine life exhibits at The Dig. Paradise Island’s The Dig features habitats for Lionfish, lobster, seahorse, clownfish, piranhas, groupers, tropical fish, iridescent jellyfish, and Moray Eels. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and Athena and I soaked it up together.  Continue reading

2014 Bucket List

Bucket List Experiences

I didn’t want to count the items on this year’s list until it was complete. I had too many ideas; it would be impossible to do them all. I’m going to find a way to make them all happen though! Life, after all, is worth living, right? Besides, the more unrealistic we are with our dreams and goals the more we are able to achieve. My 2013 Bucket List included visiting Jordan, Curacao, Bermuda, France, various parts of Canada and the US, and several other countries. It also included adventures like snuba, ATV off-roading, snorkeling with manta rays at night, skeet shooting, and windsurfing. After coming up with 50 items, I accomplished all but three of them and they are on this year’s list. Do any of these items appear on your list? I can’t wait to read about your adventures too!

Caribbean January

Caribbean Vacation Destinations

We’ve decided to make the most of our January and visit 3 Caribbean destinations. With our house in Charlotte, North Carolina on the market and a plan to move back to California, I don’t know how long I’ll have quick, easy access to Caribbean flights. From Grand Cayman to Bahamas and then onto Puerto Rico, I’m dreaming of white sand beaches, water slides, and new wonders. Here’s a glimpse of our January. Continue reading

Bahamas Party Cruise Makes Getting There All the Fun!

What can be more exciting than a Day Cruise to the Bahamas? During our visit to Florida, Darren and I hopped on Discovery Cruise Line and headed for the pristine sands of the Bahamian beaches that are softly caressed by the aqua waters of the North Atlantic Ocean. Our cruise included two all-you-can-eat buffet meals, a swimming pool and sundecks, entertainment including music and a video disc jockey, cruise bingo, movies, games, bars, clubs, a video arcade, dancing, live music, cruise shows and contests, a casino with slots, Craps, Blackjack &  Roulette, and did I mention all-inclusive drinks? We may have enjoyed the outdoors on the sun decks, took a dip in the pool, and ate a hearty breakfast, but it was the all-inclusive drinks that encouraged me to participate in a limbo contest at 9am, a dance contest with Darren on the main deck at 10am, and a “photo shoot” at 12pm. Our cheap, Discovery Cruise ended up being one of the most memorable days of our lives together. Continue reading
