Coming home to New Brunswick is just as much a food event as a trip to visit family and friends. We start planning our food stops before we’re even on the plane. Pastelli holds a special place in my heart since it’s where Darren and I had our first date and Pump House is a tried and true favorite as well. I miss chicken from Swiss Chalet, pizza from Boston Pizza, and poutine and donair from anywhere and everywhere I can get them. Magnetic Hill Zoo has more than 400 animals, including over 100 indigenous and exotic species. Birds, mammals, insects, reptiles, and fish find a comfortable and safe home in the 40-acre park, but we feel in love with the animals at the petting zoo. Even Athena, who is normally shy around new animals, loved the deer, the goats, and the ducks. She was actually brave enough to feed a few animals for herself. Continue reading
Situated in the center of the city, Centennial Park in Moncton, New Brunswick is a 230 acre playground for all ages. We took advantage of one of the free, sheltered picnic areas for a family reunion this evening and we couldn’t have found a better spot. Flogging Molly toured in Moncton, NB a few years ago and I had the opportunity to meet them in person. It was most definitely a bucket list dream come true.
“The sun never shines on closed doors” so I interviewed Bob Schmidt on the Flogging Molly tour bus before “floating” off to the concert.
Playing in the water, whether it be the ocean, a lake, or a pool, has been a staple in my family’s life. We’ve surrounded ourselves with it and made the best memories of our life in it. My oldest brother, Marshall, owns a pool and a regular afternoon was transformed into a day of laughter and fun by taking advantage of the pool and our love of water.
Everyone has a different version of what they’d like to accomplish, try, or experience in 
their life. While I enjoy extreme adventures, sports, outdoor activities and anything to do with the ocean, others like retreats, relaxing, and finding peace of mind. Sara of New Brunswick, Canada had “spend a day at the spa” as her number one bucket list item. As soon as I read her list, I knew there was at least one thing I could arrange for her.
