5 Ways to Get More Traffic to Your Blog
My recent post, 10 Great Ways to Get Noticed as a Blogger, was welcomed with huge success. What I’ve learned: we’d all like more traffic.
Regardless of your motives for writing, I’ve never heard of someone saying they wanted less traffic. Without readers, what’s the point of blogging?
As your traffic levels grow, it gets easier and easier to get new readers, and with more people to share, retweet, and post about your content, you’ll eventually experience the snowball effect.
Even big bloggers, though, need to think about traffic; those social shares and links won’t always happen on their own.
Whatever stage you’re at with your blog, these tips will help you get more traffic.
7 Ways to Improve Your Alexa Ranking
In a previous post, I shared ways to improve your Alexa ranking and it was extremely well received by my readers. It turns out, many other bloggers are searching for answers about rankings, followers, views, and states so, after proudly reaching 10 million views, I’ve decided to re-post the article. I’d love your feedback and if you have anything that I’m missing, please share with others. We are, after all, a community and it is that community that leads to success.
I knew I was Going to Succeed! Creating a Successful Blog
When I first started Bucket List Publications a year ago, I knew that it was going to be a success! I am driven; I am passionate; I am a dreamer and I do everything in my power to make those dreams come true. Life is worth living, after all, and I’m making it happen. You have to believe that you’ll succeed.
When I started blogging, I heard people say that it would be impossible to break into the field and be successful. Why would I even waste my time? Why would I want to be another “blogger”?
Well… this is what I have to say to all of those skeptics:
8,432,439 page views speak for themselves! 36,111 followers agree! Because of blogging, I’ve been able to skydive, bungee jump, para-glide, pilot an airplane and a helicopter, go whale-watching, fly in a biplane, tour Nevada, California, Mexico, South Carolina, Alaska, North Carolina, and the Grand Canyon, swim with dolphins and beluga whales, and fly a jetpack. Blogging also introduced me to friends from around the globe and allowed me to share my passion for travel and adventure with millions. The more unrealistic I was with my dreams, goals, and imagination, the more I was able to achieve. My results have ignited even more drive from within and not even the sky is the limit from here. 7 Great Ways to Improve Your Alexa Ranking
In the last two weeks, I’ve been researching SEO and Alexa rankings along with increasing followers and viewers since one of my bucket list items for the year was to gain 25,000 followers and reach 10,000,000 views! I know; crazy right? At first, it was overwhelming! I didn’t even know where to start. I knew that I had an alexa.com ranking but I didn’t know how to improve it. I knew that I was quickly gaining followers, but I never really thought about why. I’ve finally come up with a list of things that I do regularly to improve my rankings, followers, and viewers and I’d like to share my findings. I am by no means an expert; I’ve already learned that when it comes to linking to other blogs, but I do think I have a few great tips to share. In return, I’d love your feedback and if you have anything that I’m missing, please share with others. We are, after all, a community and it is that community that leads to success. Continue reading
Growing in Links – Is it a Good Thing?
The Importance of Social Media post was met with huge success. I felt confident that I was doing something right, after all, I didn’t get to over 5 million views without knowing a thing or two about social media. At least that’s what I though! Understanding SEO rankings, google rankings, and alexa.com stats are well outside of my comfort zone. I started blogging because I love to write and I love to read the writings of others. I was a teacher for 8 years and when I decided to be a stay-at-home mom, I missed daily life in the classroom; I longed to be reading, writing, teaching, learning, interacting with students… the list is endless. Blogging brought that happiness back into my life. It was the perfect solution. I can stay at home with my daughter, manage home life, and still have that immersion in the writing world. But I would be lying if I said growing in readers and viewers wasn’t important to me. I check my blog stats at least twice a day and seeing the numbers rise and the followers grow brings a smile to my face every time. Alexa.com has a permanent position on my most opened pages and I can tell you my wordpress.com views almost down to the hour. I assumed that linking to other sites must always be a good thing. How could it be bad? After only a few hours of research, I learned a few more things about SEO and link building and it’s not what I expected. Continue reading
