Top 10 Favorite Travel Photos from 2013 – #3

10 countries and countless cities made it on my 2013 Bucket List. France, Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Jordan, Aruba, Curacao, Canada, USA, Mexico, and Fiji were all part of my whirlwind of adventures and new experiences. I never envisioned such an amazing year of opportunity; my life continues to be a dream come true. I am blessed. Some people create a bucket list because they are dying; I created one because I want to live.

Here are my top ten favorite travel photos from 2013.

Number 3 – The Big Island, Hawaii

Hawaii - The Big Island Hawaii Island isn’t just big, it’s still growing. The Big Island is the youngest island in the Hawaiian chain and is also by far the biggest, providing a vast canvas of environments to discover a variety of unrivaled natural wonders. This is the home of one of the world’s most active volcanoes (Kilauea), the tallest sea mountain in the world at more than 33,000 feet (Maunakea), the most massive mountain in the world (Maunaloa) and the largest park in the state (Hawaii Volcanoes National Park). All but two of the world’s climate zones generate everything from lush rain forests to volcanic deserts, snow-capped mountaintops to beautiful black sand beaches.

Have you been to Hawaii? Is it on your list?

5 Best Big Island Tours

Hawaii Adventures Collage

There’s never a shortage of things to do on the Big Island of Hawaii. You can swim with manta rays, hike through a lush rainforest and swim in a waterfall, watch molten lava flow as you soar above the island in a helicopter, zip through the tree tops, speed over the ocean in search of whales, dolphins, and other marine life before snorkeling and discovering the life below, or go a little deeper while scuba diving. While the options are endless, here are my top five Big Island adventures: Continue reading

Keauhou’s Awe-Inspiring Views from Sheraton Kona

Sheraton Kona

Along The Big Island’s sun-kissed leeward coast, sits the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa, but when the Hawaiian sunset isn’t the most spectacular view of the evening, you know you’ve found something special. The revitalized Sheraton Kona offers diverse landscapes in every direction. From the dramatic lava cliff shoreline to “Rays on the Bay”, Sheraton is a bucket list location.  Continue reading

A Bonding Experience – Dolphin Quest

Dolphin-Quest,-Waikoloa

Family vacations are about bonding experiences and the more interactive the experience, the more likely a family is to bond. At Hilton Waikoloa Village, Dolphin Quest is the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with dolphins while bonding with your family. Today, Darren and I explored the world of dolphins; and in doing so, we connected more with each other. Continue reading

A Vast Postcard of Natural Wonders

Hawaii The Big Island

Awe inspiring, majestic, grand, a vast postcard of natural wonders, The Island of Hawaii has been on my bucket list as long as I had one. On September 24th, Darren and I will board a flight to The Island of Hawaii. It is never about just crossing something off of my list; experiences like this are life-changing and I’m going to make the most of every second. From the molten magma flowing from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the world famous Manta Ray Snorkel & Dive with Fair Wind; from the green rainforests of the Hamakua Coast to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach; I don’t want to miss a thing on The Island of Hawaii. With only 6 days to explore the dramatic size and scope of the largest Hawaiian Island, we need to plan effectively. Here’s the plan; it reads more like a life list rather than 6 days of activities.
